Analyst Insight: The Keys to Increasing Kubernetes Adoption
Chief Information Officers, Chief Technology Officers, Vice President/Director/Manager of Platform Engineering, Vice President/Director/Manager of Operations, System Architects, Product Managers, Product Marketing Managers
Why It Matters:
Kubernetes is fast becoming the next generation enterprise IT platform. Adoption will be much more difficult if issues such as complexity, transitions from traditional architectures, and Java resource requirements are not addressed. For IT professionals, it’s important to consider these problems when planning for new container, microservices, and Kubernetes based platforms.
While Kubernetes continues to evolve, more progress needs to be made on transitioning existing enterprise platforms, especially Java-based platforms, to Kubernetes and managing the complexity of highly distributed systems. It is best for IT to plan and budget for these problems as part of the move to Kubernetes platforms. It is also important for the open-source community to begin to tackle these problems before it adversely affects Kubernetes adoption.
